Afterall, how hard is it to search the thread for the earliest occurence of the word "Simon" or "Muller"?
Well it certainly doesn't take long.
I made the above post, searched for Simon on this thread and the earliest result was this

So how long did it take me to search and post this message? Probably not much longer than the people spent requesting the info without any attempt to read backApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Sorry but there were details within the last 20 or so posts of when the question was asked. I have know idea what this DTD spreadsheet it but well done on whatever it was as it sounds like it was a good job. All I know is I posted quite a bit on the topic yesterday along with someone else (Scarlini or Rootednomad I think?) and there were posts on the topic this morning. I didn't think it was that hard to read back a few pages. I mean it was laid it out on a plate even giving a sample shopping basket to help others out and all it takes is a quick search to find. We might all be here for the same reason but but there's an old saying from gaming forums - RTFM (google it for the definition). If you do that and you still can't work it out then by all means ask but it just feels lazy if you can't be bothered to do a simple search and complain about the amount of hard work this is.
No, didn't get time to get the Plax - as I said, you win some you lose some and that one I lost because of work and other commitments.
Having re-read my post, my original meaning wasn't clear. When I talk of people grabbing & running my main concern was Asda/MySM having all the glitches in one place that they could easily fix before I/we get to test them. No point in making their life easy for them. Sorry if that wasn't clear in my first reply. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

The same with the Facebook group, the PMing of each other, the not putting stuff in easy access places and all the "read back" posts. This is MoneysavingExpert if you didn't notice. We are all here for one purpose - to save money. I have literally saved around £60,000 in three years since joining this forum. I am not about to start keeping glitches and things like this to myself or sharing it with a "circle" of friends.
If you choose to do that, then fair enough, carry on and this will be the last I say on the subject. I just had to say my piece as people often forget the nature of this site, and hopefully, this thread.
I have no doubt that the DTD spreadsheet helped to stop DTD sooner than otherwise, but you know, it made thousands of people happy, and for that, I'm grateful to each and every person that helped make it, run it, and those that benefited from it.
Not everyone has hours each day to post on MSE. Currently I should be in bed cuddling the wife but I'm here typing -well, not anyomore. Goodnight 11+ - take care.
I do get where you are coming from, especially if you set up the DTD spreadsheet I keep hearing about, but I also agree with worry-warts regarding not keeping a running list of all glitching finds in one place (assuming there are other glitches to be found). It's a belief I hold over from my "1p finds thread" days as we didnt' like to make it too easy for Ts stores to know what items to remove from the shop floor and prevent us (and many others) getting our bargains.
A's could just as easily see a full list of all items that are glitching and ask their stores to try and remove them from sale making it impossible to get the voucher back. Or they could try and get MSM to fix the bug, or change their prices
The DTD spreadsheet, as I understand it (it was before my time) is a different kettle of fish to a proposed glitched or 1p reference spreadsheet. Thats because there were soooooo many products on DTD that no store could even attempt to remove all the affected products from their shelves because to do so would leave huge gaps in the aisles and drive customers away who were not able to buy what they wanted.
I really dont feel you need hours to catch up on this thread as people tend to quote the important stuff several times and there is a really good search function available for when all else fais. It doesn't help to have the thread clogged by people whose only contribution might be "whats this great bargain you are all talking about?" when they could just as easily search for it in the same amount of time. It literally took me seconds to find the relevant post
But at least finds are being made and shared on this thread as they were on the 1p thread because people come to MSE not just to read about deals but to share them with others. Nothing is being hidden AFAIK, I dont know of anything that is being kept exclusively to Facebook or PM but then I don't really expect to be included on anything like that because I've dared to disagree with some posts on here before and know that I will never be 100% accepted in the fold.
Now, based on my past experience on the thread, I fully expect someone to have a go at my hypocrisy for posting this long winded post and in doing so further clogging up the thread. Or for someone to go and have a look back for any comment I might have made somewhere, at some point since joining that makes me a hypocrite over this matter. I'll put my hand up and say it's very possible that I might have asked what the current chat was or if a glitch is still working but only because the search button doesn't always work on my iphone. Even if I did do that (I'm not 100% sure either way if I did or not) then at least it wasn't my sole contribution to the site which I think would make it OK, I think I give back to the thread where I can and its the "take take take" mentaility of some that irritates me. I am sure that someone will want to pick a fight with me over this saying "its OK for you to ask whats glitching but a newbie/lurker can't?" and my response is "in my opinion yes", the key part of that statement being "in my opinion"
So if you are a person so inclined to waste your time looking for a way to have a go at me let me just state the following to save you the bother: I am a womble, I used to sell on ebay, I claim unclaimed CC points, I clip coupons, I go on whoopsie runs, I complain to supermarkets/suppliers about poor service/quality. Just remember that we are all entitled to our opinion and I dont expect (or want) everyone to agree with me. If you look back to the start of this post you will see I opened with "i do get where you are coming from" to AngelsMadV because I am capable of understanding another persons viewpoint whilst having a different opinion of my ownApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

Ok you made me google it, :rotfl::rotfl:, I have to say I think most people on here agree with you Worry-wart. I know there are many people that don't think it's fair that they have to read back, don't have the time, blah blah blah. But the thing about this forum that differs from others is that you do have to make a commitment. There are plenty of other forums on both this site and others where you can grab and go, but I'm afraid this isn't one of them. The reason there are so many posts, is not just because we talk about skipping ropes and jacket potatoes but because we work together to find the glitches and test them. Now why should someone else expect to just take what is sometimes a wks effort to work something out between us and often at our expense if the glitch doesn't work and just get to take the information once it has been proved and grab themselves a bargain.
We try to be as helpful as we can in providing loads of info on the first pages and are happy to answer questions or help out another member that has been absent from the thread for a while due to life commitments. Equally we don't expect newbies to feel unwelcome and understand that they may be too shy to post, or not have any bargains to share. But the one thing that is unfair to all of us that do put in the time and effort to find the glitches, is for someone to just pop in to ask for it all on a plate. Granted there are often many pages to read and if anyone can't find what they're looking for then we will usually be only too happy to help. What we ask is just 2 things. 1. make an effort to search for the info first (there is a search function for this thread) and 2. be nice and share when you can.
I'm sorry if others don't agree with this but the reason this thread exists is because of the community, and there is another thread for grab and go if that's your ideal.A clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. I'm in my own little world, but it's ok the people like me here

I was able to figure out the "RTF" bit for myself. I thought "M" might have been "menu" though :rotfl:worry-wart wrote: »Having re-read my post, my original meaning wasn't clear. Don't worry, I knew what you meant and i agreed with the sentiment. I can see how single reference posts/spreadsheets can be beneficial in some instances and be undesirable in othersApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
