That's interesting Tigerfeet, so you would know that ED is a possibility/probability because you received a new I&E form? So wouldn't just 'discover' you'd been ED'd by looking on the register?

In some cases, they don't bother with an I&E review (IPOQ).

For example, in cases where only only is from state benefits and that is a long term thing. So no point asking the questions or doing the sums, as there would be no IPA anyway.

Most do get a review, certainly not all.

I think it's best to go with the view of 'you are in it for the full 12 months'. The more you think about ED the more down you'll get if it never happens.

I was the same, even though when I had my interview the OR mentioned I'll be put forward for ED I never got my hopes up because I knew it wasn't a certain thing.

Even when I received the email saying they will start the ED process and filled in the IPOQ I had it in the back of my mind that it's not high on their priority list of things to do.

Try not to think about it (I know, easier said then done)

    Exactly.

In my case was told ED might happen after about 3/4months, didn't get the EDREV/IPOQ until 6 months, and ED wasn't processed until nearly 11 months.

So all that time of wondering if it would happen, and in the end when it did it was so late as to barely qualify for the term "early". ;)

Tis easier said than done, but waiting 12 months is a damn site better than having killer debts hanging over your head and being in a desperate situation.

What happens if you just randomly get an IPOQ in the post like we did today?

No letter about ED or anything.

Could this be in relation to ED?

    Could be.

But usually (or at least you used to) get an accompanying letter telling you about ED, with the code EDREV in the top right corner, if the IPOQ was for an ED review.

Could also just be a routine review.

If it was me I might be tempted to fire off a quick email to my examiner asking something like "I've just received an IPOQ form which I will be returning shortly. Can I ask whether this is just a routine review, or is it related to the early discharge process? There was no accompanying explanation sent with the IPOQ".

Fermi thank you. Hubby rang the OR who said it was "routine" (hubby didn't let on we knew about ED) but deep down I'm hoping it's for ED as nothing has changed and the OR knows that (in fact it's got worse what with increased rent, decreased housing benefit etc).
