do you mean an alternative to orange food colouring?
    sorry i am confused
you would probably need to use a good bit of food colouring to get it deep orange, but its only 64p a bottle, 3 teaspoons would be enough i would think

anyone eating it may be a bit hyper afterwards though

as for the shape, she will need to make the cakes, stack and carve them (sort of snowman shape with a peak at the top

is she covering it in fondant or making the cake orange?

I wouldn't use liquid food colouring for cake or icing. The pastes are much much better.

Yes sorry I did mean to make a colour rather than buy a colour. But I have since heard that she now knows what she will do, I think she said she will get a paste, thanks for the suggestion re the cake shape.
