Needing advice on transferring from a fee charging debt management company to a non

Hi - I've been with Harrington Brookes for over 2 years and whilst my 4 creditors have stopped charging interest I would prefer the £35 fee Harrington Brookes charge me each month to be coming off my debt.
To transfer to say Payplan do you know if Payplan accept the same amount I currently pay or will they run through a budget themselves to reach a new repayment figure?
Has anyone transferred from Harrington Brookes to another company? Were there problems?
Any advice/comments greatly received.
Thank you

Hi there,
Have you looked at your T&Cs with HB to see how you go about leaving them - do you have to write / give a certain number of days notice?
On the amounts, I'd assume that different places do different things although I'd be surprised if they were vastly different. Payplan and CCCS both provide free dmps, CCCS do have an online debt remedy tool - it might help you to complete that and it would set out your options. You don't have to go with CCCS afterwards tho - there's no obligation.
Have a look at the DMP Mutual Support Thread for more advice and support. You've made the right decision to get away from a fee-charging company tho.
