We didn't 'fall for' anything, we found a house we liked, got a part exchange price we were happy with in terms of our finances. We love the house and don't plan to move from it anytime soon.

I'm very pleased for the people who live in a perfectly laid out black & white world, but different horses for different courses.

    Live and let live, eh?

The problem with some people is that everyone thinks you can make decision without involving emotions. Not everyone looks at the situation with only finances in mind.

Once you like a house and you emotionally get attached a bit to it. You do not care too much about the money being a little bit here or there. If it was business venture than yes, but its not and having a house to live in does involve getting some emotional attachment.

I have seen it many times on the forum, people advising to leave the deal if you can't get it cheaper etc etc. but what people forget to consider is the human touch to the whole process...

    Best of luck to you.
