    Finance Manager (no experience required)

Absolutely 100% no question a scam. You will either be laundering, be a money mule, or just straight fleeced when they send you a cheque which WILL bounce.

OP - you applied for this job? If not hit DELETE!!
  • I received the exact same email. I'm also a graduate. Thankfully I found this thread as I was close to giving my details because it looked fairly legit. Definitely a scam, too many things don't add up...
  • I have received the same email this morning. My problem was that I technically have the experience required so it didn't seem so out of the blue.

However, no respectable company would send an email with so many spelling and grammatical mistakes.

And when they replied to my email (where I was asking for more information) in equally impersonal and incorrect way, also including a binding legal agreement disguised poorly as application form AND asked for bank details, I decided to do a scam search. My next step was to check their domain, and then the company itself on FINRA (U.S. equivalent to FSA). But thanks to this thread I have my job cut in half.

It is a scam, now I am absolutely sure of this.

Good luck in your job searches!

NOW you're absolutely sure of this?!

You mean that the initial email, offering you a job you didn't apply for, with no experience, for a company that can't spell properly, didn't automatically tell you there was no way this was legit?!

When people get job offers on email for roles requiring no experience, for which they haven't applied, they are not legit. Ever.

More than likely, you would have found that your first "paycheck" was for more than was owed. No problem, you can cash it and return the remainder to them, your "employers," by direct bank transfer.

A few weeks later, the check would be found to be duff (or even better, stolen!) and your bank would debit you the full amount and require immediate payment...

Your "employers" will by now, be very quiet and non-contactable.

    ;)
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

  • I had an email the other day from some chap in Nigeria. He wanted to give me a lot more than £20,000. Any ideas on whether that was a scam or not?

Seriously though, come on! You never applied for the job. You have no experience. And they want your bank details?

University education these days, eh? Not what it used to be! ;)

Why hit delete, lets others be made aware of it especially if searching google.

Um, I'd be quite certain she meant 'delete' the email...
