DMP with the CCCS and the need to make token payments.

:(:(:(

I really am at my wits end.
I'm stressing myself out over having to contact the CCCS because we need to make token payments to our creditors so that we can have our boiler replaced. It's 18 years old and can't be fixed.
Half of it packed in in February. Unfortunately it was the water. Since then I've been boiling pans and kettles to clean and for baths. I can't put up with this any longer and with 2 young children it's a nightmare.
Everything seems to have gone wrong since the new year. We've had various breakdowns and therefore repairs to contend with so our emergency pot is almost empty.
We've been on our DMP for over 2 1/ 2 years with another 10 years to go. We've never missed a payment and have been working hard to reduce our initial debt from £ 87000 so don't want to jeopardise anything.

My question is has anyone on this board been in a similar predicament whilst on a DMP ?

A desperate DFW. :(:(:(:(

I haven't had the same situation but I've seen that people have and that after a phone call to CCCS they have manage to not pay one month's payment for an emergency which your situation would be an emergency.

Try also seeing if you can get a grant thing for the boiler I'm sure I heard an add from British Gas about one. Plus your bills should be reduced with a new boiler. :)

    Many thanks for your reply.

I contacted the CCCS who were extremely helpful. Thankfully as you mentioned it is a bit of an emergency. Also because it's a big outlay they've allowed us reduced payments for each creditor for the next 2 months which is a huge weight off my mind. The CCCS are going to put a note on our account when they send off the payments but have also advised me to forward a letter to each of our creditors to briefly explain the situation. I'm hoping they'll be understanding too.

Thanks once again. I only wish I'd contacted them sooner instead of procrastinating.

    Karen.
