Ccj arrived what to do next?

Ccj arrived this morning for credit card debt of 9 thousand despite offering the company money in instalments , what happens now?

    Well, even if you make an offer you still get a CCJ if the creditor asks for judgement.

    Question is, has the court ordered instalments here? If they have, can you afford them?

    If you can't afford the instalments ordered, or they have made the CCJ "forthwith", then you would need to ask for a redetermination or a variation of the CCJ to have it changed to instalments you can afford.

    Ah. So it's only a claim form so far.

    You don't "receive" a CCJ until the court actually makes judgment.

    In that case you need to decide how to respond, based on whether you owe this, whether you agree with the amount owed, whether you have any valid defence or counter claim etc.....

    Without much background on the debt, not something we really comment on without more info.

  • Oh I see ok , yes we do accept the debt it was our credit card that wasn't kept up with after redundancy , we just want to start paying it off ! So if I return the form we will then be contacted by the court again ?
