All of them, it doesnt work like that.

Your forgetting about vat, ni, insurance, etc. etc. it all has to be taken into account x the amount of bottles. Red and white, plus profit, like I say, they are not going to do it for nothing.

    All part of the logistics.

    Anyway, enough from me.
    Have a lovely wedding day.
    I've gone.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I think that's the crucial point. Corkage is designed to compensate the venue for money they've "lost" by you (and your guests) not drinking their wine - which makes them profit. Of course, the reason people don't want to buy the wine in the first place is because of the £10 profit they want from each bottle...and if they didn't charge corkage, nobody would buy their wine...The trouble is, most brides and grooms pay for the venue (profit), then pay per head for food (profit), bring people into the place to eat(profit), drink (profit) and often stay (profit)...and just see the excessive cost of wine or corkage as being one chunk of profit too far.

I have over 100 guests attending, the drinks themselves are expensive, so that day they are going to make an absolute mint, not to mention all the guests we have staying over as our venue is over 30mile away from where we live

Our venue Lillibrooke Manor in Maidenhead does not charge corkage, but charges a small service charge to serve the drinks. £2 per person I think.
In the evening, they will operate a cash bar where they supply the booze, or you can supply it all as well.
