Wednesday 4th July - What small DFW things will you do ?!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:money:

Morning!

My lists are really repetitive at the mo, I need some excitement in my life! Lol. I made a cheesecake last night, ate most it while making it tho! Hopefully it's turned out ok!

    G'morning, DNMS and BT1!

In job hunt madness here - had a written test this morning and popping out at lunch for a 2nd phone interview. Still no word back from the one i want most, so we wait... Feeling very spoilt to have 4 options on the go, no offers yet though!

    Anyway, today:

    - update budget, not doing too bad so far for July!
    - take a colleague out to lunch, then pop home discreetly to take interview call
    - trying to talk a friend into hosting a July 4th shindig, in which case I will make a huge baked ziti to share :) otherwise L/Os for tea and local for happy hour
    - book massage to surprise OH for our 1st anniversary on Saturday <3
    - bike everywhere etc etc

    Happy hump day, all!

    Hello there

Nothing out of the ordinary for me today:
    • Walked to/from work
    • Brought lunch and snacks with me
    • Free cuppa x 2 in work
    • Free cake too :D
    • Didn't bring my purse to work and didn't even get 'scared'
    • Asked my boss about a job on my team I saw advertised for £4k more than I'm on - and asked why I'm not worth the max  - apparently it was a typo… :insert eye rolling smiley here: :rotfl:
    • Updating CV tonight - will prob mean a job in another town with an hour and a bit's extra travel each day - would probs be ok if I could work from home a couple of days though - may as well see what's out there… (Here we go again, I hear you cry ;) )
    • More of a £5 survey on my lunchbreak
    • Check 0nepoll - got a whole 45p yesterday - still under £10 there!
Welcome along BluePumpkin :D - I hope you love it here like I do.

    Hello Everyone :j

Thought it was about time I got firmly back on the MSE wagon after a hectic few months - I am now being threatened with redundancy and money is tighter than ever! I have been keeping up with my MSE ways but due to a few unexpected expenditures (the main one being my car breaking down) its been a tough few months.

Still, onwards and upwards. I Hope you are all okay.

    Today I will/have:

    - Walked to work
    - Breakfast from stores
    - Lots of free tea and water at work
    - Lunch from stores
    - Called Natwest to cancel a Direct Debit which would have made me majorly overdrawn - I will pay manually within 30 days
    - Walk home from work
    - Dinner from stores - frozen pizza and salad I think
    - Meeting up with a friend who I havent seen in ages tonight. I am driving so will cost £10 in petrol and I will just have one glass of wine

Thats my lot. Nice to be back guys,

    Lots of love PP xxxx

    Hello, can I join in?

I just bought a hair cutting device for my 2 boys hair. Cost me £35 but in 4 hair cuts it will of paid for itself. Should save me about about £60 for the rest of this year alone! Barbers are expensive here!!!!

Also traded in my books on amazon. Thats 11.65 voucher off a christmas present I think!!!

Poured all the left over shampoos into one bottle!!! Im terrible for buying stuff before it's finished! But I WILL CHANGE:A

Going through the kitchen cupboards to see what is lurking in there that I have forgotten about. Will try and eat everything (not at once though) before I do a stock take and shop sensibly!
    Waste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!
