solar oil/cuticle eraser question?

I got some CND cuticle eraser and solar oil on the advice of Freyasmum (I think it was, she was very helpful) for my horrendous hands. However the thread it was on seems to have disappeared.
Can someone run through it with me. Do I just rub in a bit of the eraser stuff then a dollop of the oil (well, a smear of the oil) and rub in?
I have a deep crack on the lateral aspect of my little finger, just down from the crease, not great, can I stick the oil on it too to help soften it?
Thanks

Hey,
Yes, you put a little dab of the cuticle eraser and rub it in, and then 'paint' a little bit of oil onto the cuticle, also rubbing it it.
The solar oil has vitamin e and lots of other nice things and will help with dry, cracked, sore skin and will also help heal scars so it would be perfect for your little finger. You do need to pay particular attention to your moisturising routine, what with having to wash your hands so often, and with such harsh chemicals but do stick with it0 -
Thanks
Can I ask what hand cream is the best in your opinion? I currently have body shop hemp (at work) L-occitane shea butter (handbag and bedside table) and keihls ultimate hand salve (bathroom)
I'm not as keen on the body shop one (it seems a bit greasier)
My main problem is now not so much the back of my hands, but the tips of my fingers, which have cracks in the skin (really tiny, not painful, but they look grubby, and don't scrub clean even with the nailbrush, so I think it is UNDER the top layer of skin!)
My poor nails break a lot (I do keep them short, with only a couple of mm showing above the quick, but they ALWAYS seem to break down into the quickso am hoping the solar oil helps (would plain old almond oil in a dropper bottle have a similar effect? Maybe with a pierced vit e capsule? or bio oil? I have lots of that!)

Almond oil is one of the ingredients of solar oil... But there are other goodies in it too! I have heard good reviews about the bodyshop hemp cream! Check out th cnd scentsations lotions - they are lovely! If you have skin that needs a bit of love book yourself in for a luxury manicure - usually a luxury manicure will include a hand soak, a hand exfoliation and a hand mask - all of which will be fab for you if you have dry cracked skin (that isn't bleeding or weeping etc of course!) dont forget to protect your hands - wearing gloves for washing up, gardening, cleaning the house etc etc will help to prevent cracks from forming in your finger tips. cuticle eraser as already said is to be used daily just a teeny tiny bit (like most stuff by cnd a bit goes a looong way!) massaged into the cuticle area. You can give yourself a cnd cuticle care moisture pack by applying some solar oil with your cuticle eraser. Delish! Solar oil can be used pretty much anywhere for anything. X£254/£12,000 challenge... Only £11,746 to go! Wish me luck!0

You're definitely gonna want a thicker 'butter' or 'cream' rather than just a lotion. I do like the CND creams (I love the smell!), but for something more easily gotten, then jergens (I'm pretty sure it's the green one?) is good and I also like the body shop butters. The CND scentsations are just lovely - I have the tangerine and lemongrass wash and lotion in my bathroom atm - but they're really no match for incredibly dehydrated skin. You would see it being soaked up in a matter of minutes!
I wouldn't recommend a handsoak either (I'm not quite sure why they still teach wet manis, but some clients feel 'done' if they don't get that step!), especially when your hands are in water so much at work - unless it's a warmed oil soak, which you can try yourself. Just place a bowl of oil inside a larger bowl with warm water. Soak for as long as you can, then rub in some butter/cream and put on your gloves. When you're not soaking, just put on your cream and gloves.
Almond oil would be better than nothing - heck, even Lard would be better than nothing! But the solar oil contains the finest grade of jojoba, vitamin e, sweet almond and rice bran oil. It is the size and nature of these oils that allows for them to penetrate deeply and deliver the most moisturising effect.
You have lots of bio oil? I'm unfamiliar with its ingredients but like I said, anything it better than nothing. However, I would use that for your 'soak' - you only need a small amount in a bowl. Try to find a narrower and deeper bowl, as you will be able to use less - and reserve your solar oil for your cuticles.0 -
Yeah I find the l'occitaine one is the best, it seems really rich and soaks in in a short time (sods law dictates I just put hand cream on, then an emergency comes in, and it is hard to handle syringes with greasy hands!)
I am liking the solar oil and cuticle eraser, not sure there is much change yet, but been doing the both of them twice daily and trying to do the solar oil more frequently. I smear it all over the tips of my fingers, not just the nail and cuticle to try and help with the dry/callused tips!
Will stick to the solar oil, ay use the bio oil as an all over thing at bedtime with my gloves. Bio oil is a vitamin e type thing, supposed to be good for scars which is why I have it-I have a tendency to keloid0 -
Oh, and I meant to say-what about cracked heel cream-you know the ones with 50% urea in them. Are they any good to use on fingers like mine that are all cracked?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just sick of having hands of a 70 year old when I am only in my early thirties!0
