If you have a good independent cookshop or catering outlet near you try looking there rather than at the purely domestic, high street shops. (You could do worse than look at what Nisbets have to offer). Also, look at pans and lids separately. I have a huge s/s stockpot (from when I was regularly feeding 8-10 every day) which came from a catering shop teamed with a vented lid that my mother found in Steamer Trading.
Nisbets are having a massive sale at the moment.

Thank you very much guys, it's between the Meyer and the Circulon right now then, I'm very tempted by the Circulon based on the 5 star reviews but one of them does mention that it's very heavy - would be interesting to lift that and a Meyer one to compare!

(apparently the Meyer is 2.3kg, and the Circulon is 3.6kg, quite a difference!)

I have circulon (& a few Le Crusets) I really rate circulon, & I have the stock pot too:D

stock pots are banned in most decent catering establishments..

The alternatives are better and a hell of a lot safer..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
