Need some quick help on money that we owe and repaying it

Hubby has a debt of £175 (little i know) and we have agreed to pay £15 a week to clear it as our finances arent great at the moment. So every friday without fail i have phoned up and paid the £15 by my switch card.

I checked my bank statement today and the £15 from friday hadnt been taken out so i called the debt people and asked if there was a problem. After 20 minutes of holding, I was told that the took a manual payment of £15.00 on friday but the lady who took it hadnt put it though the system.

So he asked me if i could pay £15 now and another £15 this friday. I refused saying i had done my part and would continue to pay £15 every friday, meaning it would take one week longer to clear. I am doing my part, it's not my fault if your staff dont do thier job properly.
Then he switched and said can you pay £30.00 now and i stuck to my guns.

But as its hubbys account, he couldnt take this from me, as I dont have permission so hubby has got to phone them back tomorrow and confirm my conversation.

I have asked the guy who i spoke to to make a note of my conversation on the system. (as we had a letter saying that if we didnt stick to the agreement then the bailiffs would come round)

I can afford to pay the £15 or £30 now, but it is the principle of it. If i didnt stick to the agreement then i would be stung so why not the otherway around?

Any advice/comments please?

Mistakes happen, the co knew you paid on fri as they found the slip so you haven't broken the arrangement. Surely they can still process this manually?

TBH I would have just paid the £15 today if you have the money and have it done with, whats the point in arguing or delaying the debt by a week?
