Is my credit rating feeling better?

Hi,
I was declared bankrupt 02/08 and discharged shortly afterwards. I also had a CCJ on there which, I understood, was going to stay on there for 6 years. The company I owed money to refused to lift it unless I paid ALL the money back.
Over the last couple of years I have tried to get credit, only to see if I could and also to try and build up a credit rating, but was always flatly refused. I have changed my ways so I can't see why I am judged on the past. After all its ok to bail out countries and banks!
Anyway, Today I applied for a Littlewoods catalogue account and was, after a few minutes, given a £400 credit limit. Was this a mistake by them? Will they withdraw this after more checks?
I have no interest in having credit but was wondering if things have changed early, I thought I would have to wait 6 years.
Thanks,
Andy

Could be because their credit search only covered the last 3 years.
As it's a catalogue account with a low limit they may not have gone back the full 6 years.0 -
I actually thought that even if you had a CCJ and the debt was included in your bankruptcy then they'd HAVE to, by law, mark it as settled or satisfied??

I thought that too at the time but appaently not. I found this out when opening a new bank account after I was discharged. Beware people!
I contacted the firm who started the CCJ, even offering some of the money back, but they would only make it "satisfied" if they got all the money back. All or nothing.
Maybe the CCJ has come off early but, as with most things in life, I have to PAY to see MY own credit rating!

Unless you use Noddle?

Quite bizarrely i had a littlewoods accounts for little over 20 years and pre br didn't owe anything, account clear. I had a £4300 credit limit, which after br knew this was too high. I telephoned them out of curtosey. They informed me that because of me notifying them of my br, they can no longer except me as a customer, even though i never owed them a penny. That was that.
Yet i have fashion world catalogue and that was before my br finished. Strange how these companies work.B/R ..... May 24th 2011
