Default on student accounts

Hi, I have a student account with Santander whilst I was with the Open University and was defaulted on it back in April, however i never received any letter saying that this was going to happen which I understand they need to notify me of? Now I want to get this sorted for when I go to Manchester Met and change student banks. I have contacted Santander asking them if they can prove that they sent me notice of default and they still haven't got back to me. How do I get this sorted, is there another way I can go about it?

A long time ago, but money was going in to the account, then it because over overdrawn from charges and then thats why it became defaulted. According to santander though they said it would automatically upgrade to graduate account after 3 years and it hasnt yet, no letters of default and non of charged going on.

if you get charges and have late payments they won't upgrade the account.

are you sure it's defaulted and not listed as late payments?

I think you need to check over everything, I had loads of late payments with santander and really they should have defaulted me but didn't. How many late payments did you have and did you get letters about these, also do you have an online account as you can switch off the letter service and they upload the docs instead??

They don't give me full access to my online account any more. I have had very very little correspondence from them at all, some have been late payment ones but I have put money in after etc. I may have to go in to see them as I never get a proper response from them otherwise.
