Lidl's and Aldi's have their own make of white rum. I don't know much more about it other than it's cheap.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I drink Bacardi. Sainsbury are doing the 70cl bottles for £10 this week instead of £12 odd
Usually at christmas they do 2 x 1 litres for £25
(or go duty free and they cost £6-£10 a litre)
The best alternative IMHO is the Sainsburys Fairtrade rum. It has a nice flavour without the petrol type smell often in the cheaper brands 0 0

We find that Aldi's white rum is nicer than Lidl's.
I have heard that if you pass a rough tasting white rum through a Britas water filter a few times it it makes a world of difference.
Never tried it, but we are happy with Aldi's.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
