If you're a fairly small size -up to a 5 I think- you can get kids ones, which are a bit cheaper and no VAT. I got ny purple ones from Next when they had them in for about £30!

To be honest I have had one pair for over 10 years and they have no wear on the sole and I wear them a lot in the winter.

They are so comfy, warm and waterproof so I think they are worth it.

I think it all depends on what you use them for and how long you wear them for.

i find the kids ones come up far too short on my long legs so these were perfect for me, plus the kids ones have reflectors on the back.

They are really really good quality and last forever.

Thanks for the tip on amazon clothing, my daughters wanting a pair so i can get money off - result!

Mine have only lasted for a couple of years (I do wear them everyday). They now have a split in the side of the foot which lets in water, so I'm on the lookout for a new pair and might go with Aigles which have a good rep.

Apparently, Hunters are now made in China and aren't as good quality as they used to be.

Doh! Spotted the bargain, bought a pair each for me and OH, didn't spot this! I've had two pairs of Hunters over the last 15ish yrs - I wear them to death and love them. Can't believe they now charge 70, 80, 90 quid for them just because they're hip and trendy! Hope the quality doesn't deteriorate too badly.
