I've found some videos on Youtube, they show they actual boxes:

The A&C box in the video looks far better packaged than what I used to receive a few years back.
After the stupid amount of cold calls I got from them recently though I won't be going back.0 -
I've heard the cold calling is a big problem; lot of twitter-ing about it. I hate cold calls so I won't get on their radar by ordering I don't think. One of my friends orders their fruit/veg boxes regularly but has had some issues with stuff going horribly mouldy very quickly. My main issue with these fruit/veg boxes is they never are quite big enough for our family; but ordering two of the smaller ones works out far too expensive for us. xx0

I'd get home and have 10 -15 missed calls from a number I did not recognise. I googled the number and found it was them, see here

Let's hope feedback like this gets back to them and they realise how much their actions hurt their business.Kitty_Ears wrote: »They STILL ring me, send me post... I enquired once back at Christmas. I answered the phone and said no, they don't know when to stop!
TBH riverford phone you too if you miss an order, which I don't like. I don't know if they pester you much, because I normally put my order on hold so they know I'll come back.0 -
I won a competition which meant I had a months worth of Abel and Cole fruit and veg family box. I found the quality to be very good. I liked the recipe ideas that come with the box. I managed to use up the veg and their suggestions helped.:A0

It could be down to the local office, they are run as franchises. But I don't know if it was a one off, or if they do it all the time. I just didn't want to sound like I work for Riverford, and only post positive commentsthey didnt phone me when i missed some orders. they sent me a survey via email to ask why i wasnt ordering so much (i couldnt cook cos i broke my arm!)

If anyone wants to try Riverford for the first time I've had a leaflet in with my catalogue from the Book People to get a veg box half price (£5.99, normally £12.85). They don't charge for delivery but they do charge a fee for payment (up to 20p).

I haven't tried Riverford before so I'm looking forward to my first box. I've ordered from A+C before, both times using the 4th box free offer. Both times I didn't get the free cookbook they promised. The man on the phone advised me to change my 4th order to the biggest box possible, which I think was £24.99, to get that free instead of the medium box I'd been buying.
I found that a lot of the veg was going off before we used it, but last night I saw on the channel 4 programme 'superscrimpers' that if you put kitchen roll in the plastic bag in the fridge it will absorb the gases and stop things going off so quickly.52% tight0 -
I use Abel & Cole a couple of times a month at least but don't have veg boxes, I choose what I want and I get my organic veg mostly from Waitrose and Sainsbury's as cheaper. They send me an email to remind me that I need to order by 5pm, two days before delivery which I find useful. No cold calls, and I've had free eggs and milk so far.0
