While preparing budget sheet, can I keep money aside for work permit extension?

I have approx £8,000 debt to 5 different creditors and now talking to National Debt Line to arrange a DMP.
I live and work in the UK with a work permit and I need to spend around 1.5K to extend my permit early next year.

I need to keep some money aside for such a bug expense so shall I include it in my budget sheet?

"Yes" might be a very obvious answer to my question, but is there any chance that the creditors will look at it in a different way?

Thanks.

I put down my CIMA membership fees and exam fees and didn't have any issues.

Your permit is just the same as travel to work you need it otherwise you can't work.
    Total Debt: £4610.75

Thanks a lot for your input. Now I've put it into the budget sheet and that leaves roughly £80-100 for all 5 creditors I have at the moment. I'm gonna talk to NationalDebtLine today/tomorrow to discuss the budget and arrange a DMP. I'm also reading through this forum and I wish I found it earlier. Thanks again for your help.

You could also ring CCCS and Payplan they set up the DMP for free.

  • hmmm tricky one! It makes sense to put it on budget sheet. However, the fact that you will have to apply for visa extension to stay in UK in next 12 months may also put off creditors. You may or may not get the extension, therefore creditors may also choose to getting their monies back with this time period.
Mortgage deposit pot June 2012 = almost there.

    CCJ removal date = May 2014 :(

    Sorry for late reply.

Yes, this is exactly what I thought. But even if they try to get their money back within this time, I really have no other means to pay it off.

However, so far I fulfill the criteria of Home Office so I hope I will get the extension.
