Right, I am NOT going to be tempted by the all singing all dancing one (thanks Janey and Whatatwit!) My kitchen is slightly larger than your average postage stamp and I don't think it would be a good idea!

I'm still keen on the Baby George, based on everybody's advice!

Janeym8, they sell those grooved pads in Dixons and Currys by me, the big stores on the retail park.

The fat on ours also runs to the corner, I end up having to wedge the grill up slightly and then crack an egg in the opposite corner.

I can't remember where I read it, it might have been somewhere on here, but it is to do with cleaning the grill after use. I have a small one that cost just £9.99 from Currys on a special offer (also seen on here), and I have been quite pleased with it. After use, turn off the appliance and unplug it, then put a wrung-out wet cloth between the plates and leave to steam for a few minutes (see why it is important to switch off and unplug first!) After a short while, the mess wipes off easily with a cloth or a piece of damp kitchen roll. Keep an eye on it though, as it will still be hot. It does make it easy to clean.

I've got a Breville Antony Worrell Thompson grill, it's a really good size and has removable plates so they're much easier to clean.

    I'd definitely recommend it!

    Hi Bargain RZL,

We bought the Baby George a couple of weeks back when they were on offer in Argos for £6.50 & find it is big enough for both me & my mam (although we do tend to eat seperately). My aunty has a larger one for her & my uncle and although it is nice it's not really necessary to have one so big for just 1-2 persons.

  • Hi bargain RZL,

Hope I'm not hijacking your thread, but I've considering one for my new pad... how do people feel about the Baby George?

    *meekly slinks off BRZLs thread*

    Many thanks,

    PG xx

To clean mine, I usually put paper towel on the still warm cooking surface and then a damp tea towel and close the grill. Leave for a couple of hours and wipe clean. Obviously the tea towel is a mess and needs to be put straight in the washing.
