Need to borrow £4.5k but bad credit history

I desperately need advice as I am wanting to borrow £4.5k just on a short loan basis. I am due some money in a couple of months but need the cash to pay for something fairly immediately. Unfortunately I don't have the best credit history. Any help greatly appreciated?

Impossible to advise based on that info.

Do you work, can you afford to repay a loan, can you demonstrate you can afford it?

What does not having "the best credit history" mean?
Do you have defaults, CCJs, arrears?

How much debt are you servicing? How much is your income?

Yes I work & can afford the repayments. As I said once I get my settlement would probably pay the loan off in full. I have everything that you asked in my credit history unfortunately although one CCJ has been paid in full.

If this "settlement" is 100% solid and provable, your bank may give you an overdraft.

    Why can you not wait?

With a CCJ, settled or not, getting a loan is going to be highly difficult till that drops off your credit file;) Or at least one with APR of less than 1000%

Looks like you may have to put that purchase on hold till the settlement comes through

I get the feeling that reply wont be helpful at all, the OP needs to pay for it fairly immediately so must be urgent ;).

Will someone think of the children.

The most likely source of credit would be the merchant selling the thing that he needs to buy.
