Thanks for your replies my main worry is the wait again. As I would imagine the waiting list for an nhs gynacolegist would be quite a long time ?
The radiologist seemd very " proffessional " I dont mean to put her down but,i had just expected someone friendlier, but she was speaking into her dictapone when I left and never said replied to my goodbye , but the most important thing is she did her job and she did scan my kidneys as well incase the pain was coming from there.I suppose i would rather have a unfriendly radiographer who did the job that a freindily one who didint !
There was actually 2 young men in after me for a scan so dont know what there " women probelms " where !
But it was also sad as there were some poepl in reception who were hospital patients with cancer and really gaunt so I suppose I can be thankfull I wasnt them.

Just a thought on not being able to see your doctor untill 25th, is that because they are away or just fully booked. If it's the latter could you phone and ask to speak to him/her? Or write to them explaining what the radiologist said, in case their report hasn't got to the doctor yet,and ask if they can refer you to a gyne, they know what you problem is so might be able to do it without seeing you again. Good luck.

I've never usually had to wait long for gynae appointments. So hope you don't either.

    Hi Cat,

Thanks for letting us know how you got on and I sorry you did not get a conclusion. It is so difficult that you was not in the pain on the day of the appoinment - the NHS is very frustrating. I PM'd you so you might find the information I sent useful.

Hope you are feeling better today though. xx

Try booking a holdiay, it always happens to me that as soon as I book a holiday loads of things pop in my diary on the same date. At least if the ploy doesn't work you get a holiday :)

Quicky update I am still waiting for my hospital appointment.I had a letter in on may saying that I would be seen in 6 months .The pain has subsided so it is now liveable- which is just as well since I am having to wait so long ! Thanks again for all your previous help & advice.

    Hello Cat.

I cant comment on your problems as they are not similar to mine, however I just wanted to add that 2 weeks ago I saw a gync. privately. Although I did go on to have some procedures carried out, his fee was £160 for the consultation and when I rang the hospital to make the appointment with him they gave me a choice of 2 days time or a week. I'm lucky in that I have private healthcare through work but if you were able to pay for a consultation to go private, it may just put your mind at rest instead of waiting for another 6 months. At least these people are experienced in women's bits and pieces and he may be able to reassure you. Good luck

    Hi Jenny
Thanks for your reply. I have looked at getting a private consultation and as you said they are really far more quicker. However I couldnt afford any tests and I was told I would probably need some- most probably an internal scan which is thousands privately. So there doesnt seem much point when he probably wont be able to make a diagonosis without tests. I wish I had private healthcare myself now but thanks for your help. My periods have now actually stopped now totally so heck knows whats going on ! ( im most definately not pregant ) .
