Morning all, I'm taking part in a walk to Dundalk in August to raise funds for our Local Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit, I won't promote this too much here as I know it's frowned upon. Anyway we are leaving from St. Columbs Park House in Derry/Londonderry/Maiden City/ Stroke City etc… and walking to the aptly named 'Long Walk Shopping Centre' in Dundalk.
We will be armed with rucksacks a big tent and a family size box of elastoplasts
this should take us 4 days or so and the first night we intend to camp in the Sperrins. The problem comes with night 2 and 3, night 2 we hope to be in Dungannon and having done a few searches I can't find a tent friendly campsite in the area, the same for night 3 in the Newtownhamilton area.
Anyone know of any in the area or someone with a big garden that would take 4 ejeets for a night, or even if some nice hotel or B&B owners looking in:rotfl:
Any suggestions welcome folks.

I think you can still camp in Dungannon park. Newtownamilton may be a bit trickier. I'll keep an eye out though!
Well done on the walk, people don't realise the work done in neonatal until their child needs it, I know that first hand. Pm me the details, I'd love to support the cause!!0 -

Thanks Cathy, the walk organizer had his 2nd son last year 10 weeks early and spent quiet a bit of time in NNICU so we know what brilliant work they do there.
There will be twitter feeds and even you tube updates during the walk apparently (3 of the 4 walkers are IT experts, I'll be the one in disguise hiding at the back). We also have a facebook page 'the walk to dundalk' if anyone would like more info. Thanks

Checked out Dungannon Park online last night and with streetview, it looks lovely, mind you the sun was shining at the time :rotfl:
I see it is Council run and it looks to have a nice amenity block too :T we were originally walking with a 5 man tent but because of practicalities we now each have a 2 man tent to lighten the load, the problem being they will probably charge us per tent now
Anyone any Ideas for a camping area in South Armagh ? Newtownhamilton is on our route but I can't see much in that area.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0
