Hi I will be on holiday in Liverpool for a few days later this month. While I am there my OH will have her birthday and I am looking for suggestions of a restaurant/pub/hotel in Liverpool city centre that does a decent meal at a reasonable price. I should say this is not a special bithday so we are not pushing the boat out but would still like a nice meal without breaking the bank..Thanks
Val :)

depends what day you are there

Lunya - excellent for tapas and good deals early in the week

    or

Not normally cheap, but sign up for their e-mail & I think they are doing a 3 course meal Mon-Thursday for £20.12.

    or

    Fantastic value (3 couses £19.95)

If you go to the last named - you can have a pint in the Philharmonic Pub after.

Ma Bos in China town. Food really nice - but it does look like a truck stop cafe. You can take alcohol in and there is no corkage fee.

Or Casa Italia - at the side of the Metro Quarter (opposite Elenor Rigby) love it in there. Always busy. Nice, tasty and cheap.
  • This is too late for the original poster (sorry) but just in case others are searching this thread later ...

The Side Door in Hope Street is lovely. Not cheap but the food is GORGEOUS and the service friendly. They do various specials at different times (especially lunchtimes).

    A special treat.
