Keep a spending diary and track every penny- newspapers, cans of coke ets, write it all down so you can see where it's going.

well that is a good idea. tbh

any ideas on good sources of 2nd income
  • agree with above poster - if you don't have the £200 available at the end of the month, keep a spending diary.

Do it on your phone, computer, note pad - whatever suits you. But make sure that EVERY penny you spend gets noted down. Write down everything from a carton of milk to DD's, to nights out, coffees, newspapers etc and everything in between!

You will soon see where it goes.

Once you know where it's going you'll be able to decide if these are NECESSARY spends.....or if they are things that you can cut back on.

Even if you spend £1 on a sandwich, record it.

Saving is ok Brett but you must have a life too. a reasonable sort of life. Youre a long time dead.

You could be run over by a bus tomorrow, somone else will be quite happy to spend the money that you have scrimped and done without for, on fripperies. Thats my philosophy anyway. Are you saving for anythign in particular?

You really live on £40 a month for food and everything else? No new socks, underwear, toothpaste, soap, shampoo etc? Or is that included?

You've got nothing down for entertainment. Don't you ever go out? To see a film, down the pub with your mates?

Your SOA needs changing then as it's inaccurate. You said you don't know where that £200 goes but like you've just said you top your phone up out of it or use it for entertainment like buying games, these are things which have their own category on the SOA and need putting in, if you fill it in honestly then people will be able to see where the £200 is actually going and how you can but back.

On the £40 per month for food is that accurate? What do you buy? Do you make your own lunch to take to work or do you buy when you are there a ready made sandwich etc?

    hiya,

whats the secured (HP)debt please?what is it secured on?( no mortgage)

is the littlewoods debt?that is an unsecured debt surely?

you could look at the "up your income" board for lots of ideas.

re-do the SOA if you like, but with more detail.

i'd recommend getting some contents insurance (go through a cashback site too!)

    good luck :)
