Thanks Dave - I agree, honesty is generally always the best policy.

Out of interest, why did you mention Santander as the provider - Do you know something I don't?! ;)

    Cheers...

So your saying that they're will be no room for negotiation at all?

I'd like to hold up a pencil case that they gave me when I was a nipper when I started saving with them to prove I'm still a loyal customer. I know this means nothing to them in reality of course...bah.

How loyal are you going to be to them?

Would you stay if a better rate was available elsewhere. I doubt it.

Of course not, the street goes both ways. As I said earlier when mentioning the pencil case (!) and that it would mean nothing to them from the point of view of having spent my life with them - I was just being daft.

Probably many things.. - most of them utterly useless mind you..

Given the rate you mentioned, going to 4.24% which is Santanders Standard Variable Rate and therefore I assume a Santander product was advised..

I may be incorrect, but doubt it..!

Ha ha, your not the only one. I have an amazing capacity to remember the most irrelevant and pointless facts and figures that I've ever come across during the entire course of my life and yet I still manage to forget everyone's birthday with alarming frequency...
