I'm looking for an economical way of reducing pore size. I splash my face with cold water every time I wash my face. However, this doesn't make much difference.
I have tried more costly products & haven't seen any benefits. Just wondering if anyone has any tips, advice or recommendations.

hi - try using milk of magnesia - just soak a cotton wall in it and dab over your porey areas. Also excellent if you have oily skin!We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

As above or a combo of Boots Toner/cleanser with salicilic (sp?) acid http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Skin-Clear-Deep-Blackhead-Cleansing-Lotion_982382/and Palmers Aha/Bha moisturiser http://www.boots.com/en/Palmers-Cocoa-Butter-Formula-Skin-Smoothing-Lotion-with-Alpha-Beta-Hydroxy-Shea-Butter-250ml_955327/ (HG product:A), you cant fix your pores but you can minimise the appearance of then and keep them as clear as possible - hth:)All power is from within and therefore under our control0

Do you wash off the milk of magnesia after you have applied it to the skin?
Hughjass....I wouldn't use the Boots lotion as a cleanser as I prefer to use a cleanser that washes off. Also, is the Palmer moisturiser ok to use on the face?0 -

I use it as a toner too depending on how much make up I've had on and what type, I just use it after my creamy wipe off cleanser so you should be fine, its an excellent good value product with the same ingredients as many higher end similar products, I have been using the Palmers on my face and I have very very fussy skin, I cant tell how well its going, its nothing like the Palmers cocoa butter we have all used at some point, just use a small amount and it will absorb and be totally non greasy between these two product you will be bright and fresh, promise:D
Milk of magnesia can be used as a mask, apply thickly and leave to set and then wash off or you can use a very thin layer under make up to absorb excess oil, apply make up directly on top.All power is from within and therefore under our control0 -

Thanks for the info. Defo sounds like I should get those 2 products a.s.a.p.
I don't wear makeup everyday, but when I do it's usually Skin79 Hot Pink bb cream. So, I was thinking I would need a separate spf?
I've read some were that a primer is good for disguising pores, however I wouldn't know which one to try.0 -

How funny, I've just posted on the bb cream thread about the Skin79 Hot Pink product, I didn't get on with this product but dd did and her skin is amazing now, I'm sure it has an spf of around 25 or 30 but I cant remember exactly, if it doesn't then yes you should defiantly have at least a 25 on, I've just ordered Hot Orange which has a SPF of 50, no rays are getting past my barricade:rotfl:
I should add that rather than try a primer (No 7 white one is good but akward to use) I would stick to the bb cream, dd is using less then at the begining because her skin has improved so much. All power is from within and therefore under our control0 -
I have contributed in the bb thread lol. I think I'll start wearing the bb cream everyday, even if I don't put any other makeup on.
I'll wait for your review on the Hot Orange one0 -
Just wanted to add to this if you do decide to use the green Palmers on your face maybe avoid the undereye area, I've been slapping this stuff on like theres no tomorrow and last night under my eyes felt a bit sore I put some eye cream on this morning and its much better now so maybe its a bit too much for that area especially every day, live and learn;)All power is from within and therefore under our control0

Lol..I don't really used anything under my eyes anyway. Thanks for the warning0
