hi,i don't know where to post this, but only "know" you people on DFW,put it somewhere else if you want....after much distress, and long and hard thinking, have decided to hand my notice in at work, tomorrow being the day.
i can't go into the reasons, but suffice to say the management structure of where i work is changing come 1st aug and is going to cause a lot of anxiety/upset/sheer dread of going to work.i really can't face it,its making me panicky and nauseated, stomach upset etc already!
i am a nurse,a really good one actually.over 20 years experience, and i LOVE being a nurse.I DO NOT want to end up going off sick etc.
so the plan is join nurse bank and a couple of agencies until i find a permanent position.i work 18 hours a week(single mum, child with special needs) so should easily be able to get shifts to equal this, also have worked out budget/SOA :everything stripped to essentials,CC to minimum payment for now(i owe £1300 on it,no other debts except mortgage)
1st july incoming £1670,outgoings £1121-£500 saved from monthly income
1st aug-get my last wage, become "unemployed" but will be starting ad-hoc shifts, also save another £500 from wage.-£1000 savings plus whatever i earn from shifts.
august i can't work much due to school hols(no child care-12 year old)
i am just wondering what i do about CTC?i presume i tell them at beginning of aug i will be working ad-hoc shifts?would i be entitled to anything from then on or not until i'm back in permanent job?
anything else i haven't thought of?
i know i won't get sick pay/hol pay but hope fully its only a month or two.
i'm so scared but can't see what else to do.
thanks

I'm sure you've thought hard about it but I've been in situations where I've not liked my job, ended up quitting and taken something worse.
I hope everything works out for you though.

I too have been in a similar situation where just thinking about going into work made me feel sick. Only you know if there really is no other option.
with whatever you decide to do for the best. xx
