Hi :(Tinktink - so sorry to hear about your pet, it can be really distressing - the best thing to do is go get another one.
I would love to win an ipad for my OH's Christmas pressie.
Just held the q up in Sainsbury's, its not like me to be awkward usually I was just that way out. Got 2 note books marked on the shelf at 89p each. How much did it total - £1.79. I said "cant possibly be an odd penny for 2 items that are the same price" His reply was "thats what the till says so thats it" Well that fired me up even more. "sorry" I say "thats not acceptable" (meanwhile of course the q is getting bigger and bigger! The supervisor was fetched, as clueless as the assistant. I say "not worried about the 1p its the principal. When she looked the 2 identical items were showing 1 @ 89p and 1 @ 90p. She couldnt sort the till out so gave me 1p back. What is this world coming to?
Sorry had to get that off my chest, off to watch Holby now.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -

If you were on my till sylvia id have just voided the 90p one and scanned the 89p one a second time. Easily done and just neds a bit of common sense. I see it a lot through my til identical products scanning slightly different. If i notice i usually correct it myself which i am probably not meant to do but never mind makes it better for the customer
I have officially gone nuts... I have entered three comps today for the one stoke game I know i cant go to!! :rotfl:£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Sorry Becks, you are quite rights, when I was working the tills many years ago I would have done the same, he just hadnt got a clue. Just the principal I think.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0

I can't believe people are still commenting on the 'Skip Button' thread rather than on the one that they've been asked to comment on. Don't people read things?
Sorry to hear of your loss Tink, as an animal lover I understand how hard that is.
I would have done the same as you Sylvia, like you said it's the principle. If you were a penny short they wouldn't let you take the stuff would they?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

how strange regarding the till price.
Anyway I have a question. I saw something just now that made me wonder. There was a thread where the prize was a holiday. Someone said that you would need to have a deposit of quite a large sum from a credit card. Now as neither me nor DH can get a credit card (or want one) does that mean I should leave all holiday comps where this might be the case or will Debit cards be ok do we think? Id be gutted if I won a great holiday then found I couldn't go due to that technicality.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday

They ask for a credit card rather than debit as its harder to stop transactions going through as you cannot clear the funds as you can on a debit card.
Anytime I stay in hotels I just say that I'll not be charging items to my room & that works. It was fine saying this in NY & Vancuver on prize trips.
I had a credit card but I'm not keen on leaving it open with such as these.

I don't have a credit card & whenever I'm asked I always say I'm not charging anything to the room.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

When we stayed at a hotel in Bath, they took an impression of my debit card even though I wouldn't be charging anything to the room. It was apparently incase there was any accidental damage!2019 Wins
