I went to tax my car on the www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc site last night and it kept timing out. Today the sire seems to be down altogether.
Now the car is on the drive, I can't go anywhere in it beacuse I've no tax, the site gives a number to ring but it cuts out after 2 rings and now I'm worried I'll get a fine. Anyone else with this problem.

anyone that chooses to leave things to the very last daypays the price of not being able to use their car FACT0

further to this even though you might be able to pay for your tax online today you still will not be displaying a valid tax disk in your windscreen which is law for you to be able to use your car on the road and you do get plenty on notice in the post so no excuse to be fair sorry to be a little harsh.0

Not strictly true - if you apply online before the tax disc runs out (ie 30th June) then you have 5 working days exemption for the new one to arrive http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/owningavehicle/howtotaxyourvehicle/dg_10021514
Unfortunately those trying to do it today won't get this as the old disc has now expired.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
