in Phones & TV
We've currently got Virgin phone and broadband and TV but we're about to move to an empty house which has nothing.
There appears to be a phone line attached. I don't know if this works.
I don't know anything about phones and getting the Internet. All the Best Deals I look at mention so many minutes if you go with them for Line Rental. Don't we also have to pay Line Rental to BT too? I know we used to. Or is that something the other companies do?
I can't find anywhere that explains this.
If the phone line isn't working who do we call? We don't necessarily want BT.
What I need is a To Do list.

Virgin may give you a retention deal to stay with them, so ask first for pricing for thei National service. These days it is possible to go to carriers who will pay BTs wholesale line rental, meaning you only pay for 1 service.0

First thing to check is whether the new property is in a VM cable area or not. If not, your only option if you want to stay with VM (and avoid a possible ETC if you are stil in minimum term) is to take the Virgin National ADSL service. However this will require a BT-based line to be installed, and you'll still have to potentially pay an ETC on the TV service which will not be available.
If you decide to go with the existing ADSL line, then you can use any provider you wish to restore the service, BT's standard charge is £130 for a reconnection or new line provision.
I'd start with an exchange search on ww.samknows.com.No free lunch, and no free laptop
