I was thinking today how much I used to love reading the tips pages in magazines to save money or to recycle and I did search but couldn't find a page that had that on (sorry if there is).
The tips I have picked up and have saved me money are:
Use cheap sponge rolls in trifles instead of trifle sponges
Using banana skins to clean shoes if you have run out of polish
Sew the bottom on a child's old shirt to make a peg basket and just put a coat hook through
Use old soft fruit for jam or trifles
Soft bananas make muffins with them
I'm sure there are others that I don't even think about as I'm doing them but I wondered what tips other people had picked up and use all the time
