Hi everyone
We are due to be moving into rental end of July (letting current house be repo'd). My biggest worry now is that the OR will inform Landlord of BR, after we each file - hoping to do this the month after we move in... worried that after 6 months, the landlord may not want us there when he/she knows about BR - then use another excuse to get us out.. this is really playing on my mind...
Also, would it be best to set up a re-direction of mail service with royal mail - rather then calling creditors with new address - scared to talk to them!
Thanks

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do a out the LL and him not renewing your contract, that is entirely up to him. The only thing you can do is be the best tenants you can be so that when it comes to renewal it isn't worth all the hassle of having to find new tenants. Also when you have your initial phonecall after your court date you could say to the OR you are worried and would he mind not saying anything to the LL, tell him you have only just moved in and you will send him the tenancy agreement but you are really worried he may find an excuse.
Just get redirection set up, most people do.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Thanks - that was our main concern, that we wont have much time to 'prove' ourselves as good tenants as doing br a month or so after move in.. will defo let or know that this is worrying us.. was intersted to know if others have done br just after moving into rented.. and what happened re. landlord.
We have a gurantor, which agent has agreed to and credit checked etc.. signing TA next week.. Just worry for the future now - scared about whats to come...0 -
Some ORs seem to inform the bankrupt's new landlord, some do not, so there is discretion there.
You have a guarantor, so I doubt the landlord will be bothered either way.0 -
As long as for the first six months you pay the rent on time and don't cause any problems then I can't see a landlord wanting you out just because of bankruptcy, it's more time and hassle for him/her to relet the house than just keep getting the payments from the current tenants.0
