Help with 'party' bags

Options
Hi

I'm a bit lost for ideas, but I have a rough idea of what I want to achieve - so thought you lovely people would be able to help me.

I'm going to Las Vegas in a couple of months with three friends to celebrate my birthday. We have been planning this for years, and are all quite excited now!

As it's kind of my 'birthday party' I thought I should supply party bags. I'm going to try and get 4 cloth shopper bags (I'm getting one for me too!) and then get them printed with a pic/ daft saying or similar.

As I'm always been told that me and one of the others going 'wander off' all the time, I want to get some of those wrist band things (with the streatchy curly cord attached) that you use with kids to stop them running off. Will have to take a trip to Mothercare to get those.

I thought about pain killers of some kind, cake of course (if I freeze it before I go, it will stay frozen in my case in the hold). Done this before!

It's going to be a big drinking/ eating / shopping/ gambling holiday - what else would you put in the bags?? All daft and serious ideas welcome.

Age range of the four of us is 40-55.

for the cloth shopping bags sign up to Vistaprint and get the free bags when they send an offer through and all you pay is the postage.

Also hobby craft have the cloth bags at 99p at the moment - could you buy these and take to local printer or t-shirt printer and get them to put words or pic on it.

I made little gift bags for people who came to my wedding abroad and some of the things I added in the ladies' bags were:

    ~ Hair bobbles
    ~ Face mask
    ~ Hair Serum
~ Mini perfume (Sample bottles from Boots etc!)
    ~ Bracelet
~ Nail varnish (Asda do great mini ones!)
    ~ Mini moisturiser
    ~ Mini lipgloss

Since it's a Girls on Tour type holiday, how about some printed hats or t-shirts, depending on cost of course! Also, some little packs of Tums for when everyone's over indulged at the buffet! ;)

When I was looking for ideas for my bags I saw that some people had bought printed drinks cosies with their names on which were pretty cool and lanyards with plastic ID holder *thingy* for people to put their room keycard in.

Oh and since it's Vegas, some casino chip chocolates and maybe a funny/naughty deck of cards. Maybe a little guide to a different game (Poker, blackjack, roulette etc) for each bag?

I love making gift bags, can you tell?! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Hi guys!

Sorry for the late reply to you all - mym mum is not well at the moment, so have been helping here.

Thankyou all so much for the ideas.

Pinklipgloss - I went on the site you recomended, bought invites (even though I know who's coming), as thought it would be nice to send a 'formal' invite to my birthday party. Also manged to get some cloth bags that say 'let's party Vegas style'. Soooo pleased with thise - hope they are as good as I'm expecting when they arrive.

Heva - I have signed up with Vistprint, am planning on getting us each a pen and possibly a notepad printed.

Going to look and see if I can get ID badges sorted - but with mum not been well, I may not have the time to 'faff'.

Have looked on the net and founf small cloth bags (24x28cm) that I am going to order and put sweets in those for our journey.

Thanks ever so much for your inspiration - I have made a list, and will have a fun time shopping for all the 'bits'.

  • I'm doing the same for my husbands birthday in Vegas next month but struggling to find themed bags. Where did you get yours from?
  • Apologies if some of these have already been mentioned but any of the following would be good:

    - Pain Killers
    - Berocca
    - Sun cream
    - Poker chips
    - Mini Liquor bottles (jack daniels, smirnoff etc)
    - Sunglasses
    - Monopoly money
    - lip gloss
    - Some glitzy costume jewellery

scarletperiwinkle - I got cloth shopping bags off zazzle, can't remember the price, sorry. They were cream and black, had the Vegas 'sign' on then and said 'lets party in fabulous las vegas'. worked great.
