Hello all,
Seems MBNA have been busy judging by the most recent posts.
I have received a letter today telling me MBNA have sold my credit card debt to MFS portfolio, what I want to now is what happens, this debt has a CCJ and a charging order on my house, I have an agreement in place with Restons and pay £50 a month by standing order and have been paying this for approx 18 months with no missed payments.
MBNA can't help me, haven't dealt with them since 2009 and told me some other department may be able to tell me whats going on but not there til Monday.
What should I do? My present payment is affordable to me, are they going to try and force the issue and make me sell the house or make me pay more, my monthly income has reduced due to the government making me pay more pension contributions.
I look forward to some advise.

Don't worry about it unless and until they start asking for more. If you start bothering them about it, it might plant an idea in their minds.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

They can't just make you sell the house. They'd have to go to the court and apply for an Order for Sale. While charging orders are obtained very easily, Orders for Sale are as rare as hen's teeth. A judge will hardly ever grant one for consumer debt under £25k.
The idea of a CO is to secure the debt and have priority over other creditors, not to force the sale of your home.0 -
Thank you, I will just continue with my payments then.0
