Wedding nightmares

I've had a couple of dreams where it's our wedding day and we turn up as planned, but for some reason, we're sharing the ceremony with other couples! The other couples are queueing up in front of the officiator, waiting to get married, and all the guests are milling about as they try to be at the front for 'their couple' and then get out of the way when the couple are married.

My OH is standing there in line like everything is totally normal, and I'm frantically trying to tell him and everyone else that this is NOT the wedding I'd planned!
    Life on a shoestring!

I've had two so far. The first, I was looking for a pair of shoes. I went in to a shop with my mum and fiance, and said I was trying to find my perfect wedding shoes in blue. The lady behind the counter said she knew just the thing, and went back to get a box. She brought out some light blue Converse. Everyone was telling me they were amazing, the ideal shoes, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity, but I was the only person who seemed to be able to see that they were Converse and not delicate shoes like I wanted.

The second was my wedding day, in the wrong venue. I hadn't got the dress, or my bridesmaids dresses, or arranged any flowers. Whilst my maid of honour was rushing around trying to find me a dress at such short notice, I was late for my own wedding. Eventually, I went in in my jeans and t-shirt and sat down in a spare seat watching my fiance at the front, not being able to take part because I wasn't in a wedding dress.

Like it or not, these dreams are all manifestations of anxiety. All the more reason to have a small, discreet ceremony and plan a big party later when there's less pressure.

*skulks away before the bridezillas wake up from their nightmares ;)*

Im anxious because it is something my OH would actually do lol

  • I had a wedding nightmare where I stayed the night before at a different hotel (that we did look around but couldn't afford) and its about an hour away from the hotel we are getting married at. Then we got to the church (not getting married in a church!) but there was a bird in the rafters and the vicar made us wait while we were stood at the front for the bird to make its way out of the church which took about an hour. Then we went to the reception and me and OH were put on a table in the corner of the room and its was really close to the wall and everybody had to get out of their seats so there was enough room for us to get round. Then part way through the meal I realised we'd left all my things at the other hotel instead of bringing it ready for me to stay at this hotel so I sent my sister off half way through the meal to make the 2 hour round journey to get it all.

I have no idea what came over me that night!

I've also experienced 'wedding nightmares' :o a few months ago.
Mine kept being about the same thing such as not having rings, they had been lost or frantically trying to buy them on the day rushing round etc...:rotfl:once we went and ordered them they stopped! Not really had anymore as yet but you never know as the day gets closer.........!!

The other night I actually had my first wedding DREAM (i.e. nice :) ) and it was lovely...I was standing in the organ loft of the church with my dad, watching the bridesmaids walking down the aisle and absolutely thrilled with how beautiful they looked. I wasn't wearing my wedding dress, instead I was wearing a white flowery apron type thing and I remember thinking "Hmm I suppose I should get ready in a sec" but I didn't care because I was just so happy watching the beautiful bridesmaids and all my friends and family gathered in the church :) aww :)

  • I had a nightmare last night that I had someone come to do my make-up, and she made me look like a weird doll, with rosy cheeks and turquoise eyeshadow. I complained and she tried to remove it but it wasn't coming off, it just spread so the bottom half of my face was peach coloured and the top was turquoise - I looked like a sherbet lollipop! Then someone else came in to save the day, but the only way to cover it was with Jodie Marsh-style creosote foundation. I looked ridiculous.

I think I need to reconsider having my make-up done without a trial!

 I haven't had a dream about this, but we're getting married in Las Vegas and I'm thinking about booking hair and makeup in the hotel salon but worrying in case I look ridiculous as well! Need to make sure I've got half an hour after that and before getting picked up I think so I can wash it off and do it myself if necessary :rotfl:
