I've melted clothes to my iron

...really stupid, I know. But I absent-mindedly ironed something I shouldn't have at a too high temperature, and there are now bits of clothes stuck to my iron.

Have turned it off to cool... How do I chip off the melted... well... looks like melted plastic now!

(Synthetic material) Without destroying the metal plate of the iron and rendering it permamently useless.

I'm such a muppet...
