Fair enough, unfortunatley some people will not listen, and OP is definatley wrong. Its a sad situation for them.0

Dandelion - You do not know me, you do not know the whole of the situation, onyl what I have shared online. I asked for productive advice, not give up.
I am sorry that you think it is a sad situation, however I think I would be in a sad situation if I gave up at the first hurdle. I will not listen to your 'give up' attitude as I was taught to fight for what I want and what I want is to be a teacher so I will keep on working.
I look forward to my career, however long it takes me to get there.
@cardiff - As far as I was aware everything was sorted out as I left on a very positive note with a very successful KS1 event organised by myself being a big highlight.
It has been a very stressful year and really hard but I did it
And I passed. Two successful placements overall 0 -
Good luck with it anyway, perhaps go to see your course tutor and ask them what it means to have a fully reflective reference in teaching and ask them about recruitment and selection policies in schools. They will set you straight properly and will tell you how it is.0

For your information, I have spoken to my university tutor who is very supportive. She is looking into my reference and if it is weak for a reason then we are going to work on it. She however has the same opinion as me that it hasn't been updated to reflect the whole placement and will be changed.
For your information, I know about recruitment and seletion policies in school, as it was covered on our course. References are a small part of it, overshadowed by actual teaching ability, valid CRB/clear CRB, correct qualificiation etc.
You do not need to use bold type, I am not an idiot. I know you're opinion, so kindly keep it to yourself from now on, as you repeated calls of 'give up give up' are being ignored. If you haven;t realised that yet, you are clearly not reading properly. I have no intention of giving up on my career before it has started. I am clearly taking the advice of the professionals : Course tutor, course manager, careers advisors (ex-primary teacher), current primary teachers.0 -
If you really think the reference is the problem, why not try supply with an agency just to have a later "last employer@?"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

I think that your plan of speaking to the course tutor and getting them to follow up on the reference is a good one.
If the reference does have a weakness and can't be changed, then I would discuss with your tutor the wisdom of dealing with this at the interview so that the interviewers are forewarned. I often interview for new teachers including NQTs, and a standard question is one about how you have made improvements in your practice. That could be answered by saying something along the lines of: in my last practice I found x difficult (x being the thing you know you have been marked down for) and to overcome it, I have done a,b,c and d.
Good luck with getting a first post.0 -

Thank you for your advice. This is why I want to know what they've put in order for me to follow up. We shall see what they've put. However I will disagree whole heartedly if they have put me as a satisfactory practicioner and hope my faculty tutor who has seen me teach on many occasions will disagree, as she rated some of my qualities as good to outstanding, not just satisfactory.
I hope to do some supply work if I dont have a job as it will give me good practice.0 -
I am very pleased to report that the issue was all sorted out
I spoke to the university who then spoke to the school. The school called me and we talked about it and they have agreed to change my reference!
Following that I have an interview tomorrow0
