my husband and i borrowed £7000 in 1995, the following year my husband was diagnosed with cancer and we reduced our payments. We then had more health and money issues and sold our house to rent property, after several years we lost the information of the loan, even though they were still taking £50 a month from my husbands salary. It was our fault but we forgot who we had borrowed the money from even though it still came from my husbands wage on a monthly basis. I recently went on experian credit to check our credit and paragon came up, so i rang them and amazingly after paying for over 15 year we still owe over £5000, how can this be, and i no we paid ppi, but apparantly there is no way to stop this coming off our salary without my husband changing jobs . Does this seem right, someone please help  liz shaw (shawscoty@hotmail.co.uk)

Well the problem is that six hundred pound a year is only around 8.5% of the. Loan amount, so to be honest you are probably lucky the capital has come down and not gone up,
Could you not have made a claim on the PPI if you had it, definitely worth pursuing this for either a payment or repayment of fees.
You could raise this as a complaint with the lender and then go to the regulator after eight weeks but I wouldn't think you have a great case.0
