Vodafone - Payment plan/Debt collection.

I had 3x Vodafone accounts - one for mum, one for dad and one for my GF. I broke up with my GF, my dad died and my 77 year old mum refuses to go out with the phone I got her as she is paranoid of being mugged. I got behind on a payment one month and made a call to set up an agreement, agreement made they sent me a letter to advise that i owe £770+ and needed to pay up. I called again, made a payment and agreed ANOTHER payment plan. Today i was contacted by a debt collection agency saying they referred me to them!!! I just spent close to an hour waiting to speak to someone to be told that the notes confirmed what i was saying but i need to call the collections team on monday but in the meantime they will be taking a payment from my card as per my agreement this weekend???? !!!!!!!!! Yes i fell behind but i called an spoke to them asap and have making payments as per our agreement but they cant even tell me if they will contact the debt collector AND on the meantime i now have a default on my credit file... Help!!!

You can't trust them with a recurring payment from your card so get your bank to cancel it. This guide explains

    Recurring payments

If you set up a payment plan, the safest way to pay is by standing order.

And the safest way to get an agreement is to do it in writing
