Protocol for a DCO visit to your home??

We are on a DMP since xmas just gone with CCCS..
All of our creditors accepted it and reduced our interest and charges etc, except Halifax.
Each month since they still charge me a late payment and interest which comes to more than double my CCCS payment to them, in fact its almost treble it!

Each month I write to them, and remind them of the situation and ask for help, and am yet to have a reply even!

About 3 weeks ago I had a standard letter from Blair, Oliver Scott, advising they had been passed the account.

I replied advising of the above and asking them to contact CCCS.
About a week leter I had a blank SoA form and a compliments slip asking me to complete & return.
I sent it back blank advising CCCS have all this info and I am sure they will send a copy if you request it.

I have had another letter today saying as I have not paid in full or contacted them with an offer of payment, that in five days they will send it to a door to door agent!!

I have written to them again and just posted it, reinterating that they should contact CCCS regarding my account, but I am just wondering should it continue along this course of action, what the usual protocol is for when these people call, as if I dont answer the door with a preset plan of action, I know I will kick off big time, and end up doing something I will regret!!!

Failing to deal with your chosen agent contravenes the OFT Guidelines for debt collection.

    Speak to CCCS as well.

There is no protocol for a debt collector's visit to your home, they have no more right to visit you than your neighbour's cat.

You don't have to open the door or speak to them. There is no law says you have to deal with them.

Write to them again and remind them of the OFT guidelines regarding cooperation with DMP agencies. Also formally revoke their perceived or implied right to visit your property without specific invitation, and advise them that you will not be making any appointments with them.

Refer them to CCCS and state that further attempts to circumvent the DMP process with be reported to the relevant regulatory authority.

    Good luck

Have you ever spoken to the FOS about this? Don't write to Halifax, let the FOS do it for you.

Give them a call now or Saturday up to 1pm on 0800 023 4567. They are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on. :)
