Better than I was expectingI'm itching to get stuck into that last bit of Barclaycard, but with TNT picking up my Hong Kong stock today, I need the cash available to pay the import VAT.
I was thinking last night of all the things I could do to make a little bit of extra money to throw at the debt - but when it comes down to it, I think the best return I'm going to get is by focussing on my existing business. So October is going to be 'clear out the stockroom' month. I must have about £3000-worth of unlisted stock lying around the place, so the camera batteries are charged up and I'm going to get to grips with it.

Managed to get the £101.xx shopping bill down to £83.xx with multibuys and coupons
Mr Minx has already put his £41.75 into my bank account, so that's today's PAD and tomorrow's will be the old Egg card, as I had a statement email through this afternoon. Looks like the interest charged was £38.30, less than I predicted, so Mystic Caz may still yet get the total for the month right
Just the balance transfer interest to go now - it's a bit weird only having the three cards!
Edit: Sorry, make that TWO cards, the business Barclaycard and the personal Barclaycard are, of course, the same card. Doh!0 -
£71.60 paid off the old Egg card. I've just worked out that as long as we don't have a mega-shop next weekend, my personal debt should just creep into the £8,xxx band for scores on the doors a week on Friday. Whether I can keep it there for the remainder of the month is a different story though.
I weight taped the horses this morning and let's just say they're not getting their feed upped any time soon :eek: All they have is half a handful of unmolassed beet, half a handful of alfalfa and two spoons of their magic mix (micronised linseed, brewer's yeast and magnesium oxide), but in the last three weeks, thanks to the long, old grass in the bottom field, Merlin is up nearly 30kg and Finn is up about 20kg. I'm all for them putting on a bit of weight in advance of winter, but that's :eek::eek::eek::eek: They only get fed once a day at the moment, that usually goes to twice a day as it gets colder, but they'll not be getting any more until they're back to their usual weights of 475kg and 420kg!
I did buy something on eBay today, which I'm feeling a bit guilty about, but it's 100g of lovely periwinkle blue laceweight yarn (99p plus £2.40 P&P), which is both Mum and mother-in-law's favourite colour, so I'm going to knit them both a lace scarf for a little extra Christmas pressie :A0 -

Or not....:mad::mad: The Hong Kong supplier emailed me this morning to say that the boxes weren't collected on Friday or today (it's nearly 5pm over there at the moment) and no-one from TNT has been in touch. I've emailed the company it was booked via to find out what's going on, as I can't find a contact email for the local office in Hong Kong and I don't have any AWB numbers to track its status direct via the TNT site.
Not quite so many orders to go as last Monday, thank goodness, but still enough that I'd better crack on with them rather than sitting here wittering - especially with 5 loads of laundry to get through as well  (The second one is currently in the machine, but with no tumble dryer and dodgy weather I'm not sure all five will get done today!)0 -
Hope you sorted the courier problem?0

They haven't even replied to the email yet and will only deal with enquiries via email  Next stop TNT Hong Kong, and if they've got no record of the booking, I'm doing a chargeback and getting my freight agent to collect it.0 -
Morning all, not much further on with the courier problem, but I went through all the emails very carefully and found a pick-up reference which should mean something to TNT Hong Kong, so the supplier is giving them a ring for me (they're very lovely people).
I got nearly a whole box of stock listed yesterday :T and my endeavours were rewarded by £300 in the business PayPal account this morningI only need another £2200 this month to have everything paid, including next month's drawings, so in about 10 days I'll be able to hit the horrible-rate-Barclaycard again.
We're doing quite well on the heating front. We've got the panel heater on in the bedroom now, it comes on between 5.30am and 6.30am so that the room is warm for Mr Minx getting dressed, then goes off for an hour and comes back on for 7.30am to 8am for when I come back upstairs and get out of my dressing gown into clothes. Other than that, we're just using the wood burner and as long as we remember to close the living room door when we go to bed, it's still warm in there in the morning.0 -
Morning
Hope the courier gets sorted, great on the stock being listed and selling
I have the heating on twice a day now, the kids are moaning its too cold lol x0 -
Well done on listing the stock and the payments received. :T
We end up having the heating on all the time as we have pets. The price of LPG has gone up and we need to fill our tank.
