Does Editing an existing AIP cause new credit check

I had a successful AIP from the yorkshire Building society and went to check that everything was correct before making the final application.

It seems that when selecting "edit" it causes the AIP to change from approved to invalid even if no changes are made.

I phoned the YBS and they said for me just to re-submit it which i did and its back approved.

my concern is whether that would leave another print on my file.

on the Leeds BS there is a pdf which states that clicking on an approved AIP will turn it to invalid and that you must re-submit to get it approved again - they state though that no further credit check is made that time.

Would this be the same for YBS

I can't speak for the lender in question, but in my experience, lenders re-search if you increase the amount of borrowing, or there's a change which results in an increase in the loan to value.

Actually some lenders may not even do another credit search for certain period of time. They would cache the report on their servers unless they need to request it again from the providers.

It all depends on the lender.
