Virgin Wine Discount Codes - Not Accepted Here!

Has anyone experienced difficulties in using Virgin Wine Discount Codes which are sent by organisations as a way of thanks for buying their goods and services? Amazon send them out as does Uswitch for changing utility suppliers via the Martin Lewis web site.:money:
I booked holiday acommodation with English Country Cottages and got one for £40 off a case of Virgin Wines - but Virgin Wines will not accept their own Voucher! They claim it is a promotion for the Virgin Wine Discovery Club - a claim at odds with the wording on the Voucher - and since I was once member I am not entitled to the deal. The small print on the back of the Voucher says: "One case per customer" and "Discovery Club members can't claim". So hard luck they say.
But I am not a Virgin Wine Discovery Club member.
I was but cancelled my subscription many years ago and have received nothing as a "member" ever since. This is apparently a Club you can join but never leave.
Anyone else in the same boat as me?:(
