Thanks Yorkie. We are consulting a mortgage adviser at the moment and have another AIP with Abbey at the moment. Not getting our hopes up about getting the full offer though and have mostly detached myself from the house emotionally. My main concern is the vendors wont want to wait much longer, but then the house has been empty for 6 months already so hopefully another few weeks wont make too much difference. Fingers crossed (still!). I dont know much about Abbey's criteria or how favourably they will look on our situation, glad to have a professional to guide us though.

Given your situation with Nationwide, your broker is doing you absolutely no favours going to Santander...

Their criteria is strong and they are being incredibly selective and pedantic at the moment. They are happy with gifted deposits though...

    You deserve some luck though..

Kebab-man - The gifted deposit should be fine, if Nationwide are taking this long then there is something else they are unhappy with. Suggest you put a rocket up your broker or adviser if in branch as Nationwide are usually good.

There is also a chap who comes on here from Nationwide, may be worth hunting them down and trying to get some support.

    Good luck all

Oh dear, that doesn't bode well for us then Dave. Not a lot we can do really, it is what it is and if no-one wants to lend to us then we are a bit stuffed as we have just about come to the limit of what we can do to improve our circumstances. Just hope we get that luck we are due sooner rather than later :)
