Don't know what to think :-(

Hi all

Just thought I'd post for thoughts as no-one can do anything but this house selling is doing my head in! 3 weeks ago we accepted an offer. Since then...nada! Nothing has happened! Is this usual? Our buyer is an investment buyer...she came round with her family the other week to show them. My estate agents keep saying they've not received stuff from her bah blah. Just wondering if this is usual? I'm feeling so glum as we out in an offer on house and way things going we will probably Los...I don't want to instruct a survey if one hasn't been instructed on ours! Thanks for reading.

What do the EA say? They should be bugging the buyer for details of her solicitor. What's she telling them?

There's not much you can do hun, I'm sorry. If she doesn't give her solicitors her paperwork and funds to start work then there's not much the solicitor or estate agent can do.

It's not unusual for people to be lazy in completing forms, sending money etc. They then turn out to be the ones shouting that everything should have been completed yesterday!

Hope things start moving soon for you

buying and selling is very slow, things take weeks, it's unbelievably not a smooth operation.
I sold this year, wasnt in a chain, 12 wks it took,
Im now buying, cash sale and it's 8wks -no chain, not even exchanged, you
have to be patient coz it drives you mad.
But make sure you know where the hitches are too, dont just sit back, sometimes you need to be chasing EA, etc to make sure things dont lapse.
Why dont you ask your EA to ask the buyer to ring you, far better to be talking.
Me and my vendor are set to go, I ring them directly, it's the people shuffling papers that are slowing it all down.

Is she buying with a mortgage?

Is she actually having a survey done?

Have the EAs been in touch with her to see where she's at?

is only fair to give people a couple of weeks to book in a survey (or some other sign of commitment) - if they do not, get your EA to find out why and then put it back on the market...
