You could try freecycle I got some boxes on two occasions recently0

ask at local supermarket for the banana boxs or other fruit that come with lids
ask the people who put out the fruit & veg, you can also get the poly packaing that fruit sits in.
All FREEThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
Thanks, I've registered to join freecycle, so may have some joy from there. I'll also ask around at work - seems mad to pay so much for boxes that I'm just going to want to get rid off after I've moved.
Thanks and if anyone has any other suggestions, please do post.

I got a load of boxes from macdonalds, asked when i popped in and they saved loads for me when they had a delivery of frozen foods in (boxes were clean).

I would 2nd the mcDonalds boxes.
If you check what day they have their deliveries they will usually keep aside for you.
Also try Iceland Frozen Food stores as they are also good strong boxes too0 -
if its moving I dont recommend supermarket boxes I got a fair few of them off freecycle but they are not very good, wont take heavy stuff at all, or they the fall apart. Like I said I also got proper boxes also from freecycle and they were ones you buy and they are very good. I also got free ones from my mover who supplied them for free and proper boxes, some movers only supply ones they get given, I rather pay that bit more and than skimp on a cheaper company. The company I used was brilliant and they got two customers from me from recommendation because of the efficient service.0

Was it a national company? It's very hard to get a good recommendation, and I may need to move sometime in the next 12 months0 -
You could try your garden centre. Mine (Wyvale) has loads of sturdy boxes in all sizes.0
