Lost money?

I pay my utilities monthly, reading my elec & gas metres on the last day of the month typing the readins in online and paying the balance. Water I pay monthly. I changed bank accounts because of the BR and missed a monthly payment for water because of that, so paid from my cashminder a couple of days ago the missed payment, set up a new DD and a payment has gone out then today I get a letter from Southern water saying thank you for your new address details (I haven't moved!) and here is my new bill for the rest of this billed year. I also get a letter saying they have been notified that I am BR and have set up a new account for me and have placed a claim with the OR for the outstanding amount from last year. I hadn't realised this would happen and have been merrily paying as normal each month!

My question then is the two payments I have just made which total £100, is that lost money as they have gone into the old account? Means I have paid this month but now still owe this month as that is a different account? Sounds stupid but I really need that money credited to my 'new account' as I am only on ESA and finding another £100 is going to be impossible.

Southern Water don't provide a geographical phone number and my payg mobile has no credit to call 0845 or 0800 numbers, my includive call minutes could phone a geographical number had they provided one! Saynoto0870 says they don't have one, so annoying so calling them isn't possible.

I've had an email reply from Southern Water. Thankfully they have transferred the payments I made to my old account number not knowing it had closed to my new account. I'm so relieved, sounds silly but the loss of that money would have been hard to pay, yet again. They've also provided me a landline geographical phone number! Don't know why they don't make that public. So all sorted now. The email system works then just takes ages and it is a week since I emailed them so replies aren't quick.
