Bought Tesco value brand 420g tin for 26p and I am so shocked as I have been paying 70p for Heinz and they really taste so similar.

When my dad worked in a well known bakers they used to make bread for all the large supermarkets including m and s. All they did was changed the wrappers over and continue making bread. Same bread different wrapper. People who buy certain m and s food thinking it is good are paying over the odds as it will be cheaper in places like tesco for the same product.0 -
You may be correct about bread but Branston beans definitely taste better than any others I've tried.0

I have bought Branston when on offer and then tried the Corale Aldi ones (when the Branston offer finished).
I have stayed with the Aldi beans as they are quite nice and are £1.29 for a pack of 4.
Ok, not as cheap as Branston when on offer but most people have a local Aldi, not all have easy access to an Asda.

I know someone who actually creates recipes for bread, mostly gluten free bread. One of his clients was m&s and they were specific about having their own recipe and that it wouldn't be copied.
Can't say if that's true about their normal bread though, and I'm sure it used to be as you're dad said, and probably still is in a lot of cases. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I never like Heinz Beanz - got a nasty taste to them and the sauce isn't right.0
