Complete works of Shakespeare

First of all, please move this if you think it will get a better response elsewhere or if it is in the wrong forum Thanx

I have a book which I've had for a couple of years (I actually just found it again). I've searched it on google and can't find anything exactly matching the one I have.
It is "The complete works of William Shakspeare" ( I know we spell it Shakespeare now) but this book does not have an e in the middle of ShakEspeare. It cost one shilling and sixpence, nett. The only date I can find on it is Tudor printing works 1897.
I really want to see if it is worh anything so if anybody knows anything about books or can put me in the direction of somebody that does it would be very much appreciated.

TIA
Scruffy

P.S I can get photos if anyone wants to see the exact book I'm on about.

maybe go into your local bookshop, they might be able to direct you to more specialist bookshops? if you have any second-hand bookshops, or Oxfam bookshops, they might be able to help as well.

Charity shops *might* be able to help as well, I'm sure they must get loads of stuff in..and even if they don't trawl through everything, they may have some pointers for you

any antiques shops near you? even if they don't know about books, they may have colleagues in the trade who can help

yellow pages? (although I don't know what heading you'd look for)

Hope you find out what you want to

another thought...try your local library, see if they know of anyone

or, you could try ringing the library of your nearest university and see if they have a rare books department/collection, and the over-seer of that may be able to help.
